Head Chef and Assistant Chef
Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate, reliable Chef and Assistant Chef to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with CACFP guidelines and school standards. The ideal candidates value consistency, cleanliness, and care, and understand the importance of food in a child’s daily experience.
Key Responsibilities
Chef
- Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks in compliance with CACFP and school nutrition guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and proper storage
- Ensure all meals meet allergy, dietary, and safety requirements
- Collaborate with administration on menus and special events
Assistant Chef
- Support the Chef with food preparation, serving, and cleanup
- Assist with kitchen sanitation and organization
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Step in as needed to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a school, childcare, or commercial kitchen preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and basic nutrition
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Must meet background check and clearance requirements for working in a school setting
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, daytime hours
