Pediatric Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential support in a dental clinic environment, assisting the dentist during procedures and ensuring a positive experience for our pediatric patients. Your expertise in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with dental systems will be crucial in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
• Take medical imaging, including Bitewing and Panoramic X-rays
• Manage patient records using Open Dental and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Provide comfort to children during treatments, addressing their concerns and making them feel at ease.
• Preform prophy cleanings and educate patients and their families on oral hygiene practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment, including X-ray systems.
• Proficiency in infection control standards within a dental environment.
• Experience with Open dental or similar dental software systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in interacting with children and their guardians.

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) (Required)
