The Delivery Director, Salesforce is a senior leader responsible for delivery excellence across our Salesforce engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, to the highest quality standards and are driving measurable business outcomes. You will standardize methodology and quality, manage and mentor talent, ensure resource alignment, and protect commercial performance while partnering closely with Practice leadership and Account Management to grow client value. The Delivery Director is a practice-embedded leader who plays a key role in shaping the system, building the team, and creating the conditions for consistent, scalable execution across Salesforce engagements.

Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership
  • Oversee the delivery of multiple Salesforce programs and projects across various industries and clouds. Includes establishing a single accountable delivery owner per engagement and ensuring team is proactively managing risk, scope, budget and client expectations to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce best-in-class delivery frameworks, governance, and quality assurance processes.
  • Partner closely with client sponsors and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment and transparency.
  • Serve as an escalation point for delivery conflicts and trade-offs; make clear, timely decisions.

Practice Operations

  • Develop and refine delivery process tailored for Salesforce projects within an agency model (agile, hybrid, managed services, etc.) aligned to Verndale global delivery model.
  • Ensure standards are documented, communicated, and adopted. Drive continuous improvement through delivery metrics, retrospectives, and operational reviews.
  • Work with capability leads and resourcing team to forecast and manage staffing needs, ensuring optimal resource allocation across programs.
  • People leadership and talent development.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Project/Engagement Managers
  • Foster a culture of ownership, commercial awareness, and proactive problem solving.

Client & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a senior delivery point of contact for key client relationships.
  • Partner with account and sales teams to scope new opportunities, estimate effort, and shape delivery models.
  • Contribute to business development by providing delivery assurance during pre-sales, proposals, and client presentations.

  • Commercial Performance: Maintained or improved margins; reduced profit fade from estimation through delivery; effective change-order management.
  • Operational Maturity: Consistent adherence to delivery standards; accurate forecasting; reliable delivery cadence.

  • Practice Readiness: Scalable staffing models; efficient onboarding; adoption of standardized tools and processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience leading Salesforce delivery for complex, multi-workstream projects in agency or consulting environments; expertise across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and Mulesoft.
  • At least 5 years managing cross-functional teams (project/program management, solution architecture, engineering) with proven client outcomes and margin responsibility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivery governance, estimation, SOW development, risk management, and change control across agile, hybrid, and waterfall methodologies.
  • Track record of effective people leadership, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a solid understanding of revenue recognition, margin, resource utilization, and forecasting.
  • Executive presence with clear, confident communication and the ability to resolve escalations while maintaining trust.

Nice to Have

  • Salesforce certifications (Admin, Sales/Service, Marketing), PMP, CSM/SAFe.
  • Experience standardizing delivery methodologies and tools at the practice level.
  • Pre-sales and solutioning experience, including developing delivery models and estimates for complex programs.

Compensation & Benefits

$150,000 - $200,000 USD

In accordance with applicable law, the above salary range provided is Verndale's reasonable estimate of the salary for this role. The actual amount may vary, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition to salary, Verndale also offers a competitive benefits package.
