This is a Part-time 24 hour position. Some weekends, evenings and holidays required.
Angell Animal Medical Center is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team.
THE POSITION:
This position requires knowledge of MA Board of Pharmacy regulations and some previous retail pharmacy practice experience. If you are working in a retail Pharmacy, consider bringing your skills to our veterinary hospital for a refreshing and unique change in your career! Duties will include answering and addressing pharmacy phone calls, processing medication refill requests, relaying medication orders to outside practices, communicating with veterinary staff regarding prescription orders, filling medication and prescription food orders and flavoring various pet friendly dosage forms following basic pharmacy practice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mandatory regular attendance and punctual presence.
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time 67%-100% of scheduled shift.
- Must be able to constantly move about within the pharmacy 67% - 100% of scheduled shift.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms, including answering telephone, typing on a keyboard, writing with a pen or marker, labeling orders and retrieving labels or paper from a printer 34-67% of scheduled shift.
- Must be able to frequently retrieve and return items (up to 15 lb.) from/to a shelf above eye level or below knee level 34%-67% of scheduled shift.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry bags of food up to 30 lb. over short distances (10-20 feet) and move them from one shelf to another 34% to 67% of scheduled shift.
COMPENSATION:
Certified Pharmacy Technicians starting $21-$28/hr.
