WR is one of the fastest growing immigration service providers worldwide with over 40 attorneys and 150 immigration professionals working out of offices in Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Oakland, Petoskey, San Francisco, Santa Monica, and Shanghai.
The Legal Team Manager oversees a team of paralegals and legal assistants and works alongside attorneys to ensure casework is assigned and completed according to strict deadlines imposed by the U.S. government and internal firm policies. The Legal Team Manager also serves as the main contact for all questions related to their specific department and plays an essential role in the firm's daily operations. We are currently looking for a Legal Team Manager with experience in both NIV (H-1B, L-1, E-2, B-1/2, and more) and IV (PERM, I-140, AOS) matters to join our Boston team. This position can be performed fully remotely with the option to work from our Boston office as desired; candidates must be willing and able to work according to Eastern Time Zone business hours.
Legal Manager Responsibilities:
Overseeing and managing caseload for all members of their team; balancing and distributing cases to other team members as needed
Conducting regular meetings with team to review caseloads and department needs and address any issues regarding personnel, workflow, training, and supervision
Evaluating new cases upon intake and strategizing as needed regarding any problematic cases
Serving as a main contact for Client throughout case process, included preparing and sending initial start package at the beginning of each new case and answering Client questions as needed
Ensuring team is adhering to standards set in place in Service Level Agreement with Clients
Monitoring teams use of internal data management systems for completeness and accuracy
Promoting teams professional development by providing guidance regarding immigration procedures
Conducting annual performance reviews for all team members
Other projects assigned by partner and based on business needs
Requirements:
Bachelors degree with strong academic record
At least 3 years of experience in business immigration law, including NIV, PERM, and other business immigration case types
At least 5 years of progressive experience
Proven mastery of managerial skills and abilities
Excellent organization, time management, and personnel management skills
Superb attention to detail
Ability to work with multiple attorneys to meet strict and competing deadlines
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects
Clear and effective communication skills, especially in a professional email setting
Ability to accurately instruct team members on policies, procedures, and protocols
