Organizational Overview
The Worcester Bravehearts are a high-performance collegiate summer baseball organization competing in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. We are committed to competitive excellence, elite player development, and delivering a premier fan experience.
Our program operates with a professional mindset. We develop athletes to compete at the highest levels while building character, accountability, and leadership. We are seeking a Pitching Coach who thrives in a competitive environment and is passionate about developing high-level arms.
Position Summary
The Pitching Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of pitching development, performance strategy, and in-game execution. This role demands a disciplined, detail-oriented leader who can implement structure, elevate standards, and maximize performance outcomes.
The ideal candidate blends traditional baseball acumen with modern analytics, demonstrates strong leadership presence, and drives a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
Pitching Performance & Development
- Design and implement a structured pitching development program
- Conduct mechanical analysis and provide corrective instruction
- Develop individualized bullpen plans and progression tracking
- Integrate arm care, recovery, and workload management protocols
- Utilize performance metrics to improve velocity, command, and pitch efficiency
Game Strategy & Execution
- Collaboration with General Manager on pitching strategy and opponent analysis
- Prepare pre-series scouting reports for pitching staff
- Manage bullpen roles and in-game decision-making
- Monitor pitch counts and protects athletes’ health
- Conduct post-game performance evaluations with pitcher.
- Culture & Leadership
- Establish clear standards for preparation and professionalism
- Foster a high-energy, competitive, team-first environment
- Hold pitchers accountable to daily performance expectations
- Serve as a mentor and role model on and off the field
- Reinforce mental toughness and composure under pressure
Qualifications
- Collegiate or professional playing experience preferred
- Prior coaching experience at high school, collegiate, or professional level
- Demonstrated understanding of pitching mechanics and arm health
- Experience utilizing modern performance technology
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
