Interim Accounting Director (3-Month Contract)

Location: Chelmsford, MA (Hybrid or Remote – Preference for candidates in the Greater Boston area)

Our client, a well-established and growing technology company in the Greater Boston area, is seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Director for a 3-month contract beginning immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with a strong corporate accounting background who can quickly step into a fast-paced public company environment and provide immediate impact.

While the position offers hybrid or remote flexibility, candidates located near the Boston area are strongly preferred, as initial onsite travel will be required for onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support corporate accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Manage daily consolidation processes across multiple entities.
• Oversee legal accruals and equity accounting.
• Perform foreign exchange (FX) accounting and analysis.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet flux reporting.
• Analyze Marketing & Sales P&L variances and provide meaningful financial insights.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting.
• Partner with finance leadership to maintain strong accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support a complex, multi-entity organizational structure while ensuring compliance with corporate accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and accounting leadership.
• Strong background with:
  • Legal accruals
  • Equity accounting
  • Daily consolidations
  • Foreign exchange (FX)
  • Balance sheet flux analysis
  • Marketing & Sales P&L flux analysis
• Experience working within a public company environment is highly preferred.
• Technology industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with ERP and financial consolidation systems is a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment.
