About Pawsh Pawsh is an independently owned dog grooming salon and boutique that has served Boston's Back Bay since 2008. The perfect groom starts with a clean, dry dog, which makes our bathers essential to everything we do.

The Role We're hiring a Part-Time Dog Bather & Retail Associate to work alongside our stylists and help deliver the best grooming experience in the city. You'll be supported by top-of-the-line equipment — Prima Bathing System, K9-II force dryers, Shor-Line tables, and Groomer's Helpers — and premium products from iGroom, Nature's Specialties, and Artero.

Responsibilities

• Bathing, high-velocity drying, brushing, and de-shedding
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process
• Nail trimming and grinding, gland expression
• Assist customers by providing pet care advice, product recommendations, and answering questions about grooming services and retail items
• Stock shelves with pet products, manage inventory levels, and organize displays to enhance the shopping experience
• Maintaining a clean, organized bathing area; end-of-day cleaning
• Engage in light physical tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or equipment to support daily operations

What We're Looking For

• 1+ year of animal handling experience (salon experience a plus; we'll train the right candidate)
• Comfortable handling difficult dogs with a patient, gentle approach
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and time management
• Team player with strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs (short distance from tub to tables) and stand/walk for long periods
• References required

Schedule 2–3 days per week, 5–7 hour shifts. Flexible days. Potential to add bathing days or blend with retail associate hours for the right candidate.

Pay & Benefits

• $16/hour base + 20% of gratuities on dogs you prep (clients tip generously; total typically averages $20–$25/hour)
