Are you precise, patient, and passionate about electronics? We are looking for a skilled Assembly Technician to join a leading technology company right here in Chelmsford, MA. This is a fantastic contract opportunity with a clear path to long-term, permanent employment.
Shift Availability is either on Monday to Thursday 4p-2:30a or Friday to Sunday 5a-5:30p
What You’ll Do
- Precision Assembly: Assembling electronic components, sub-assemblies, and final products by following detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Microscopic Work: Working with components ranging from microscopic to large-scale, often using visual magnification (microscopes) to ensure accuracy.
- Tool Operation: Using a variety of hand tools (tweezers, rulers, cutters) and pneumatic tools (torque drivers, screwdrivers) to complete assemblies.
- Quality Verification: Utilizing measuring instruments and electronic test equipment to ensure every product meets strict quality requirements.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate data entry related to production processes and task completion.
- Collaboration: Working closely with team members to identify improvements, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills are a must (navigating digital systems for timekeeping, work instructions, and task confirmation).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus and the ability to work meticulously in a fast-paced production environment.
- Communication: Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with precision.
- Preferred Experience (Not Required): Background in electrical and/or micro-electronics is a plus. Familiarity with ESD procedures and test equipment is highly desired.
- Certifications (Nice to Have): Willingness and ability to learn J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 soldering and assembly standards.
