In-Person/In-Office, Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor, full-time

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining policies, processes and practices that ensure compliance with federal, state and regulatory agencies related to the management of Medical Records.

Compensation based on experience $62,400 - $72,800 per year

Functions & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting with the managing of all aspects pertaining to the maintenance, privacy and integrity of Medical Records, Provider Orders and Face to Face documents, including but not limited to, consents, NOMNC, etc.
• Assists with supervising staff in the performance of their duties and ensures adequate staff coverage by working with HIM Director on hiring and maintaining appropriate staff levels.
• Provide support with rotating weekend, holiday and off hours coverage for discharge appeal audits.
• Collaborate with HIM Director to develop, implement, and monitor productivity and quality indicators for each department function.
• Responsible for supporting HIM Director with the orienting and training all HIM department staff; including training staff on all new or revised procedures in the department.
• Assists HIM Director and other HIM staff to ensure the timely and accurate response to all audit requests
• Maintains current knowledge of requirements and practices; comprehensive knowledge of Medicare PDGM and professional knowledge related to medical record regulations and industry.

Education

• Associate’s Degree required; RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCA certification preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy information standards required

Experience

• Demonstration of a minimum of 2 years of strong leadership/ supervisory experience in health record administration.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders..
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications required.
