Responsibilities
- Perform assessment, diagnostic testing, prescribed treatment, and care of respiratory therapy patients; monitor response to therapy
- Evaluate effectiveness of treatments and adjust as needed; document outcomes in the electronic medical record
- Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) and interpret results; ensure proper sample handling
- Provide care for NICU and PICU patients as required; respond to triage needs and coordinate patient transfer when higher-level care is needed
- Maintain department records, equipment readiness, and adherence to policy and safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to optimize patient outcomes

Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license; RRT credential
- BLS (American Heart Association); NRP certification required; ACLS preferred
- Must be able to draw arterial blood gases
- NICU/PICU experience required
- EMR experience strongly preferred
- Residency/location requirement: no local travelers; must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a hospital setting
