Locums Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

A community-based behavioral health organization serving the Worcester and Auburn areas is seeking a Locums Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team. This opportunity offers a flexible part-time schedule and the chance to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness in both office and community settings.

The provider will work closely with a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Medical Director, delivering medication management and psychiatric services to high-acuity patients living in the community.

Compensation: $110 Per Hour

Position Details

Schedule: 4–5 days per week

Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week

EMR: CareLogic

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management

Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with serious mental illness

Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust medication regimens as appropriate

Collaborate with social workers, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other members of the PACT team

Participate in treatment planning and care coordination meetings

Conduct community outreach visits and office-based patient encounters

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within CareLogic

Support crisis intervention and stabilization efforts as needed

Patient Volume

Program census of approximately 80 clients

Weekly patient encounters vary based on acuity, transitions of care, and medication management needs

Some weeks may involve 25 patient contacts, while others may require 10 or fewer

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

Active Massachusetts license required

Active DEA registration required

Active Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) required

Experience in Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, Community Mental Health, or Serious Mental Illness populations preferred

Local candidates strongly preferred
