About the Role:
The School Age Counselor-Site Coordinator will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for school-aged children in Northern Berkshire. This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities, ensuring that programs are aligned with educational and developmental goals. The Site Coordinator will collaborate with parents, educators, and community members to foster a positive atmosphere that promotes learning and personal growth. Additionally, the role involves managing staff, coordinating schedules, and implementing curriculum that meets the diverse needs of children. Ultimately, the Site Coordinator will contribute to the overall well-being and development of children, helping them to thrive both socially and academically.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Min Age 20 Years old
- Experience working with school-aged children in a group setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a coordinator or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of local community resources and support services.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality programming.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and program updates.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to enhance the overall experience for children.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building relationships with children, parents, and staff. Leadership skills will be utilized daily to guide and motivate the team, ensuring that all activities run smoothly and effectively. Organizational skills are crucial for managing schedules, resources, and program evaluations, allowing for a structured and efficient environment. Additionally, problem-solving skills will be employed to address any challenges that arise, ensuring that the needs of the children are met promptly. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of community resources, will enhance the program by connecting families with additional support and opportunities.
