Position Summary

The Senior Assembly Technician performs complex assembly operations with minimal supervision and serves as a technical resource for the assembly team. This role supports quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives and may provide informal leadership and training to less experienced technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Independently assemble complex or high-precision products and sub-assemblies
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and advanced work instructions
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and recommend corrective actions
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Train, mentor, and support entry-level assembly technicians
• Support process improvements, documentation updates, and standard work development
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards
• Accurately complete detailed production and quality documentation

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
• 3–5+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electro-mechanical, electrical, or precision assembly
• Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or 5S experience
• Soldering, wiring, or quality inspection experience
• Experience working in ISO or regulated manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed work
