Are you passionate about plants, garden care, and expanding your horticultural knowledge?  Parterre Garden Services , one of Greater Boston’s leading fine gardening companies, is seeking a dedicated  Fine Gardener  to help maintain and cultivate some of the region’s most admired landscapes. Our clients trust us for our expertise, professionalism, and artistry in horticulture—and we’re looking for someone who shares that passion and finds purpose in stewardship of gardens over time. 

As a  Fine Gardener , you’ll work closely with Field Managers and Crew Leads to deliver expert garden care across a variety of client properties. This is a hands-on role, with opportunities for continuous learning through practical experience and in-house training and lectures, while working alongside a supportive, collaborative team.

Your Role: 

  • Conduct routine garden maintenance, including weeding, mulching, and fertilizing 

  • Perform precise planting, pruning, and transplanting 

  • Seasonal container planting and maintenance 

  • Learn to recognize the landscape and what its maintenance needs are 

  • Provide clear, timely, and concise reporting to Field Managers and Crew Leads 

  • Learn to recognize pest and plant diseases 

  • Identify and problem solve landscape issues and communicate concerns 

  • Collaborate with teammates and actively participate in learning, training, and knowledge sharing. 

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Genuine interest in plants, landscapes, and working outdoors 

  • Desire to learn horticulture and best practices in fine gardening 

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment 

  • High attention to detail and visual quality 

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently 

  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable personal transportation 

  • Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions 

  • Background in art and design is appreciated but not required

Location: 
Parterre is located in  Billerica , with work performed at client properties throughout Greater Boston, including Belmont, Boston, Cambridge, Dedham, Dover, Lexington, Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Winchester, and surrounding communities. 

Employment Type: 
Full-time, seasonal position (March-December) 

Some Saturdays required during peak seasons.
