Vice President, Marketing
Thea Pharma Inc. is the newly established US affiliate of Laboratories Thea, a global pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The company has focused on the development and commercialization of OTC and prescription therapeutics for the treatment of eye diseases for 30 years. Thea is advancing development for OTC and prescription ophthalmic products and has launched its lead product for the treatment of glaucoma in the US in 2023.
SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Marketing – Rx will be responsible for leading and executing the strategic marketing direction for Thea Pharma Inc. prescription drug portfolio. This executive will develop and oversee marketing strategy, branding, lifecycle management, launch excellence, HCP engagement, and market access support to drive market share and revenue growth. This role is a critical member of the U.S. leadership team and will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, and Global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and lead the long-term and short-term marketing strategy for the portfolio in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide strategic insights and competitive intelligence to shape portfolio decisions and maximize brand differentiation.
Brand Management & Product Marketing
- Lead development and execution of marketing plans, including brand positioning, messaging, multichannel campaigns, digital strategy, and promotional materials.
- Drive pre-launch and launch planning for pipeline products, ensuring cross-functional alignment and market readiness.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop a high-performing marketing team.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture that encourages innovation and accountability within the marketing team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to develop sales enablement tools, field training, and performance metrics.
- Support sales team on the execution of marketing strategies and tactics.
- Collaborate with Market Access to support payer strategies and ensure appropriate reimbursement and patient access.
- Interface with Global/European marketing teams to leverage international insights and ensure global brand alignment.
Market & Customer Insight
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and customer insights.
- Stay abreast of ophthalmic and glaucoma trends, clinical developments, and evolving customer needs.
Budget & ROI Management
- Own the prescription drug franchise marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Measure and report on marketing effectiveness and ROI, using data to refine future strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, marketing, business administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, experience in ophthalmics a plus
- Experience leading the successful launch of pharmaceutical products and experience supporting multiple commercial product launches
- Experience working with physicians/KOLs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to internal and external audiences
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and problem-solving
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and seize new opportunities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, virtual environment with multiple stakeholders
- Creative and innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works primarily in an office-based setting, using various communication and collaboration tools and technology to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Requires travel up to 50% of the time to Thea offices, internal and external meetings, industry events and conferences
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriately. Additional physical and mental requirements include:
- Ability to hear accurately the spoken word with moderate office noise
- Ability to apply deductive reasoning and understand complicated issues
- Ability to receive instructions and follow work rules and company policies
