BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains and operates various

types of heavy motorized equipment used in the maintenance, construction, and repair of the city\'s infrastructure and facilities; undertakes a variety of maintenance activities for public works and/or maintenance. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receive general supervision from the Supervisor, Commissioner, and Water Superintendent. Provides technical guidance to crew workers. assigned to positions of grade 10 and lower. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Under supervision, operates various types of motor equipment operate, front-end loader, compressor, and jackhammer. ? Performs other skilled and unskilled tasks in connection with such operations. ? Under direction, performs tasks involving manual labor requiring the highest degree of skill in the construction, operation, and maintenance of water mains, water gates, sewers, and drains. ? Performs tasks involving manual labor requiring a lesser degree of skill and incidentally ? During snowstorms, this position supports and assists the Highway Division with snowplowing and removal operations as needed. ? Performs related work as required. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum Requirements: High School or GED Must Hold License: Valid Class B (CDL) Commercial Driver?s License. Promotional Opportunity Should the incumbent obtain the required licensing for an MEO III in Water & Sewer within 1 (one) year from their date of hire, they will be promoted to an MEO III provided there are no performance issues.
