Ministry Operations Coordinator

Duties:
Support the overall mission, goals and objectives of Joni and Friends. Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
  1. Assist with Family Retreats and Getaways. Provide support in recruitment and organizing a team of volunteers to carry out retreat tasks before, during and after Family Retreat
    1. Assist with application processes and communications for families and volunteers.
    2. Provide support with background check process for volunteers.
    3. Actively evaluate program post Family Retreat and plan for changes as needed
    4. Assist with Family Retreat preparation, execution and follow-up
  2. Provide support in promoting, facilitating, and leading Joni and Friends church equipping using Joni and Friends Ministry Relations materials and other training materials, for awareness and education in churches and educational settings at every level
  3. Work with marketing team on content for Joni and Friends USA account and other platforms
  4. Participate in local and international Joni and Friends’ programs as opportunities arise.
  5. Assist with logistics in the wheelchair collection program
  6. Support donor development and participate in fundraising efforts as needed
  7. Assist the Ministry Operations Manager executing events or aspects of events
  8. Represent Ministry in the community. In collaboration with other staff members and volunteers, set up and operate promotional efforts at area conferences and events as available
  9. Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
  • Self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide support to multiple projects and multiple volunteer teams
  • Able to interact effectively with leaders throughout the community
  • Experience in camping ministry preferred
  • Strong computer knowledge and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Passion for people affected by disability and scriptural knowledge related to God’s heart for people who are marginalized
  • Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and travel
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

Physical Requirements:

This position involves both sedentary office work and occasional physical activity during and in preparation of onsite and offsite events. The employee must be able to sit for extended periods, operate a computer and other standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through virtual platforms. During events, the role may require standing or walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, carrying materials, and setting up or breaking down event spaces. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items such as boxes, signage, or supplies up to 25 pounds.
Work is primarily performed in an office setting but also includes offsite environments such as hotels, conference centers, and retreat facilities. Offsite work may involve varying temperatures, lighting, and noise levels, as well as periods of increased activity during event setup and execution. Employees are expected to maintain professionalism, safety awareness, and flexibility while adapting to different environments and schedules.

This is a hybrid position working in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday and Friday are remote work days. Compensation for this position is $22.50 - $24.00 per hour (non-exempt).
