About This Opportunity
Do you take pride in precision and enjoy working with advanced manufacturing equipment? As a Laser Operator at NEDC, you’ll be at the heart of our production process — setting up, maintaining, and running our laser machinery to deliver the highest-quality parts to our customers.

What You’ll Do Every Day
Your Core Responsibilities:
Set up machines to cut or slit parts and samples per specifications
Maintain production tools and equipment to ensure consistent quality
Complete data entry for all jobs, recording cycle times and material usage
Document production activities including materials used, run-times, PO#s, and traceability requirements
Perform preventive machine maintenance as scheduled
Order production-related supplies when needed
Partner with inspection and quality staff to meet workmanship requirements
Follow ISO 9001 Quality System procedures and company safety policies
Be a reliable team member — regular and consistent attendance is essential
Take on other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills That Will Help You Succeed:
Technical reading & communication – Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; and communicate effectively with peers
Math confidence – Comfortable with calculations involving percentages, area, circumference, and basic geometry/algebra
Problem-solving ability – Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Computer familiarity – Basic spreadsheet and data entry skills

What Your Day Looks Like
Physical Environment:
Active role: standing and walking up to 85% of the day
Using hands frequently, with occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
Work Setting:
Clean, structured manufacturing environment
Occasional exposure to:
Moving mechanical parts
Fumes or airborne particles
Outdoor weather conditions
Moderate noise levels
May occasionally work in areas with temperature variation or vibration
