Director, DDS Residential Services

JF&CS is seeking a Director of DDS Residential Services to lead and oversee our multi-site 24-hour group homes funded by Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS), ensuring high-quality, person-centered supports that empower individuals to live meaningful lives in their communities.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of DDS Residential Services provides vision, guidance, and operational oversight for residential services. This role supervises and mentors the management team while driving workforce development initiatives that foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork. This role requires building strong relationships with families, funders, community partners, and our compliance team to ensure exceptional care, regulatory compliance, and meaningful outcomes that promote independence and quality of life for the individuals we support.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience in residential or human services settings, a deep commitment to person-centered care, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on support and problem-solving.
Highlights
- $92,000-96,000-/yr salary range
- $150/wk stipend for back up on-call rotation weeks (roughly monthly basis, providing assistance to the primary on-call, if needed)
- Full-time, weekdays
- Hybrid schedule including group home locations in Brighton and Newton, Waltham office, and some work from home
- Paid time off includes ample sick time and 22 days of vacation, in addition to national and some Jewish holidays
- Immediate eligibility for dental, vision, retirement plan
- Medical Insurance coverage is effective the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment
Requirements of the Director of DDS Residential Services
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in related field preferred
- At least 5 years experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or other vulnerable populations, preferably in a residential setting.
- At least 4-5 years supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of DDS regulations and residential service delivery, highly preferred; experience with providing high quality services that are subject to oversight by a regulatory body is required
- Ability to make safe, consistent, and effective clinical decisions in crisis and non-crisis situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and evaluate with specific attention to higher level strategies, while ensuring that details are also effectively addressed.
- Knowledge in health and human services operations and planning
- First Aid/CPR/MAP certified or ability to pass trainings within 90 days
- A valid driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle (mileage is reimbursed)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Outlook
