Executive Chef
We are seeking a results-driven and innovative Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of a premier upscale New American restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is an exceptional opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who balances operational efficiency with a genuine passion for the guest experience.
Culinary Leadership
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and taste
- Oversee food preparation, plating, and portion control
- Lead daily back-of-house operations, including prep, service, and sanitation
- Establish and enforce kitchen procedures, recipes, and standards
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment Team
Management Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and mentor kitchen staff
- Set performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork
- Promote a positive, professional, and respectful kitchen culture
Financial & Inventory Management
- Manage food costs, labor costs, and kitchen budgets
- Oversee ordering, inventory, and contracted vendor relationships
- Work closely with ownership and front-of-house leadership to ensure operational alignment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional kitchen experience, including leadership roles
Proven experience as an Executive Chef and / or Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume or comparable restaurant
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
- Ability to manage costs while maintaining culinary excellence
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary is $80,000 to $110,000
