Position Title: Golf Staff

Position Reports to: Director of Golf

Employee Categories: Full-Time or Part-Time Seasonal; Benefit Eligible

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt; Hourly Position

Compensation: $17-$20

The Golf Staff will be responsible for spreading hospitality and goodwill among all members, guests, and fellow staff. The Country Club is seeking enthusiastic and service-driven individuals to join our Golf Operations team. We take great pride in delivering an exceptional experience for our members and their guests. Every member of our team plays an important role in upholding the club’s long-standing tradition of excellence, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Golf Staff are responsible for supporting daily golf operations while creating a welcoming and seamless experience on the course and around the golf facilities. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in attention to detail, and is committed to providing the high level of service our members have come to expect from The Country Club. Compensation range: $17-$20

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Member & Guest Engagement
    • Know and administer The Country Club’s rules and regulations.
    • Understand the entire operation thoroughly.
    • Assist Members and Guests with their daily needs.
    • Create a presence around the first tee.
    • Address guest groups prior to teeing off regarding Club policies and Pace of Play guidelines.
    • Check the website daily for information regarding the tee sheet, clinic participation, and important notes. (if within the PGA)
      • Post golf course conditions online if necessary.
      • Tournament updates and results.
  • Golf Staff
    • Assist fellow Golf Staff members when needed.
    • Attend weekly Staff Meetings (if within the PGA)
    • Participate in Intern Education Seminars (if within the PGA)
    • Keep Golf Operation neat and clean.
  • Golf Shop & Golf Business Program (if within the PGA)
    • Know and use Golf Shop rules, policies, and procedures.
    • Place stock and special orders.
    • Check in merchandise as it arrives.
    • Sell and return merchandise.
    • Execute daily Golf Shop goals directed by the respective Assistant Golf Professional .
    • Send “End of Day” email to Golf Staff
    • Monitor the Golf Shop floor to make sure it is fully stocked.
    • Assist with inventory control and monthly physical inventories.
    • Answer all telephone calls.
    • Send UPS & mail shipments.
  • Tournament Management (if within the PGA)
    • Conduct tournaments at The Country Club.
    • Operate the World Handicap System.
  • Instruction & Personal Golf Game (if within the PGA)
    • Lead Instructor for the Junior Golf Program.
    • Assist with golf clinics
    • Play golf with members and guests.
    • Work to improve golf game.
    • Daily Simulator walk throughs/restarts.

  • Outside Operations
    • Keep all areas of the Outside Operation neat and clean (especially the Ice Cooler room for proper protocol)
    • Abide by set hours of operation for consistency
    • Golf Car Maintenance & Cart Barn Storage
      • When storing golf carts or taking out of Cart Barn:
  • Clean prior to storing and check cleanliness prior to removing
  • Plug in charger when storing and check their charge prior to removing
  • Display golf carts for daily use with necessary towels, tees, pencil, and scorecards
  • Bag Room Storage
    • Communicate with Starter to anticipate member and guest needs
    • Set up club cleaning station including towels, buckets of water, and club brushers
    • Pull necessary golf bags for current day Tee Sheet
    • Display push carts for daily play
    • Clean all clubs prior to clubs leaving the Bag Room and upon their return to the Bag Room
    • Bring towels to laundry when necessary
  • Monitor Practice Facilities including two Practice Tees, three Short Game Greens, and a Practice Putting Green
    • Set up Practice Facility prior to arrival of members and guests
    • Refill golf balls on Practice Tees or Short Game Greens
    • Driver Range Picker to pick up golf balls
    • Wash golf balls in Ball Washer
    • Close Practice Facility at advertised time
  • Club Repair
    • Perform all Club Repair projects if approved by Assistant Golf Professional
  • Monitor water coolers on golf course
  • Complete team garbage removal process

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with members, guests, and fellow team members.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining club service standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle member equipment and golf operations responsibilities with care and accuracy.
  • Ability to anticipate members and guest needs and respond promptly and courteously.
  • Ability to follow established club procedures, policies, and service expectations.
  • Basic knowledge of the game of golf and golf etiquette preferred.
  • Ability to remain organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak golf operations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and maintain a positive attitude throughout the workday.

Uniform Requirements:

  • Professional Golf attire some of which will be provided by the club.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time, and safely lift and carry golf bags weighing up to 40–50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by golf operations.
  • Must be able to work 24 to 50+ hours a week which may include weekends and holidays.
