Environmental Test Engineer
The Test and Analysis team is responsible for ensuring that emerging products are ready for the harsh conditions of air, land, sea, and space environments. Our team supports multi-disciplinary product teams across the full life cycle to design, develop, and validate new and existing products. This includes requirements analysis, environmental and electromagnetic interference testing, reliability testing, and manufacturing sustainment efforts. The Test and Analysis team achieves these objectives through consistently striving to understand primary design drivers through analytical modelling, including specialized structural-thermal-optical performance (STOP) analysis, along with strategic engineering validation and qualification test campaigns. This fused approach ultimately enables us to identify opportunities for product robustness and quickly implement solutions to ensure critical capabilities efficiently make it into the hands of our military and its allies.
We are looking for a Test and Analysis Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Lexington, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that emerging products are ready for the challenging conditions of air, land, sea, and space environments. You will support multi-disciplinary product teams throughout the entire product life cycle, engaging in requirements analysis, environmental testing, reliability testing, and manufacturing sustainment efforts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team to execute testing of optical systems and sub-systems for the Anduril Imaging Division
- Perform a broad range of test development, test design, and verification activities to ensure system performance meets project requirements. Some of which may require data collection, analysis, and testing on ground and airborne platforms
- Work closely with other cross functional teams as needed & participate in design reviews, safety reviews, product reviews, test readiness reviews, and other milestones as applicable
- Lead test design, test plan development, & readiness reviews including generating and executing hardware test plans
- Must have a strong background of various test methodology including test apparatus (shakers and chambers for example), measurement sensors, data acquisition, data post processing, communication, and report writing skills
- Travel to test sites as needed to support DVT & Qualification Efforts. This includes local and out of state travel which could be a week or two at a time to support critical test events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in the area of environmental test in both climatic and dynamic environments
- Strong knowledge of requirements: MIL-STD-810, STANAG 4370
- Successful candidates must have relevant proven experience in environmental testing, including performing climatic and dynamic operational testing of systems or sub-systems. This includes test plan development, working knowledge of test infrastructure, and working with external test facilities.
- Good at working independently and with various teams and key stakeholders
- Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs for short periods of time
- Must be comfortable with hands on work and working in noisy environments including outdoors and inclement weather
- Minimum BS in an engineering discipline
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced graduate degrees (Masters or PhD)
- Experience using MATLAB and/or Python for test execution, automation, and data post processing
- Experience using and testing optical sensors and sub-systems
- Thermal or Dynamic analysis experience
- EMI/EMC testing and standards knowledge of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-704, etc
US Salary Range
$113,000 - $149,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
