Executive Director of Apprenticeship Pathways Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours/week Campus Location: Danvers, Lynn, Telework possible Work Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm SALARY: Salary range $110,000.00 - $120,000.00. The offered salary will be commensurate with experience and education but will not exceed the stated range. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Executive Director of Academic Apprenticeships will facilitate and assist the Academic Deans and faculty in constructing apprenticeship pathways in three academic programs under a new three-year grant: Medical Assisting, Respiratory Therapy, and Surgical Technology. The Executive Director will report to the Dean of Health Professions and also work in close collaboration with the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Employer Relations to ensure ample employer partnerships support these apprenticeship pathways. The Executive Director will be the locus of managing a process that includes faculty designing (or re-designing) curriculum and seeking governance approval, staff providing student support functions, employer partnerships, marketing, recruiting students, assessment, and grant administration and budget. The Executive Director works closely with the grantor, the Smith Family Foundation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the successful implementation of the Apprenticeship Pathways initiative at North Shore Community College;
- Support faculty as they develop apprenticeship degrees for incumbent workers within our industry partner sites and other apprenticeship students;
- Work alongside the Smith Family Foundation, National Center for Apprenticeship Degrees and fellow grantees on launching three new apprenticeships over the next three years;
- Work with leaders in Student and Academic Success to build communication, structure, and seamless integration into the apprenticeship program;
- Work across departments, faculty, career, student support, and community and industry partnerships to build successful pathways;
- Develop trusting relationships with employer partners to support their needs and work while building successful apprenticeship pathways with incumbent workers at their sites;
- Study the national apprenticeship model and direct work toward getting NSCC apprenticeships to certification so the apprenticeships are sustainable;
- Provide project management support for accreditation applications necessary for implementation of the apprenticeship models;
- Develop and propose a long-term vision for the sustainability of the initiative after the grant period;
- Scale programming to meet the needs of industry partners;
- Monitor all student compliance and attendance and provide referrals to support services as appropriate;
- Manage all budget, grant, and report obligations that are associated with the project;
- Attend statewide and regional meetings associated with apprenticeships;
- Collect and analyze data to monitor and evaluate student outcomes;
- With Institutional Research, develop metrics and data reports.
- Master's Degree in Education or related field required.
- Extensive experience in higher education programming and working with student learning programs, enrollment, faculty, and industry partners.
- Knowledge of the structure and operation of credit and transfer programming in higher education.
- Significant and detailed experience in enrollment and processes within enrollment and financial aid.
- Experience in fundraising and proposals.
- Ability to engage with external constituents from many diverse backgrounds, prioritizing varying agendas;
- Able to work evenings and weekends occasionally and travel regionally.
- Ability to direct, promote, and manage innovative statewide initiatives.
- Ability to research and solve problems as barriers present themselves.
- Skills in prioritizing multiple tasks, organizing and working with information, LMS, and other institutional systems.
- Experience building successful programming workspaces.
- Commitment to collaborating and creating space for participation
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
- Prior experience managing a team.
- Previous leadership role in enrollment and/or academic programs;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high-level managers in corporate spaces.
