Shipping Traffic and Driver Dispatch Specialist

Your mission
- Be the primary point of contact between shipping, production, sales, customer service, and carrier partners.
- Plan, schedule, and execute inbound and outbound loads while documenting detention and maintaining accurate carrier logs.
- Quote freight and track shipments; coordinate appointments with 3PLs and customer-selected carriers.
- Maintain a real-time shipping schedule that enables an efficient work plan across the facility.
- Verify shipment paperwork and ensure every load is completed accurately.
- Dispatch drivers throughout the day and coordinate with security at the gate.
- Weigh trucks in and out when directed; schedule inbound materials and delivery appointments.
- Prepare required traffic, shipping, and customer reports and follow up on service delays.
- Develop working knowledge of air freight, international, and hazardous shipments.
- Support housekeeping and 6S; identify quality issues; meet established productivity standards.
- Cross-train across business units; perform related duties as assigned.
Schedule and environment
- Full-time, onsite role in a team-based manufacturing setting; regular and timely attendance is critical to team safety and success.
- Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs to ensure production areas remain safely staffed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years clerical/administrative experience.
- 1–3 years transportation/shipping experience preferred (prior experience helpful but not required).
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management, sound decision-making, and clear written/verbal communication.
- General office proficiency and strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Physical requirements and safety
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Stand for long periods; bend, squat, twist, and turn as needed.
- Wear required safety equipment.
