Overview of Concept:

The Bower plaza in the Fenway is home to three concepts from ES Hospitality - Eastern Standard, reopened after 15 years in Kenmore Square, Equal Measure, a craft cocktail bar, and Standard Italian, a modern Italian restaurant. These concepts, helmed by Garrett Harker, serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks to neighborhood visitors, BU students and faculty, residents, and restaurant industry professionals alike.

About The Position:

Eastern Standard is seeking a hard working, motivated individual to join the bar team in a bar support role. This is a role for someone who is eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, remain constantly curious about all things food & beverage and work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As bar support you’ll be on the front line representing the Eastern Standard and the ES Hospitality brand. You’ll be responsible for backing up the bartenders in all aspects of the shift from set-up to prep to service and breakdown, ensuring that the bar provides a memorable dining experience through stylish execution of cocktail, wine, beer and food service. Responsibilities Include:

• Commit to developing and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the ES food and beverage program including all food menus, cocktails, wines, beers and spirits

• Support the bar team in full, including prep work such as batching, cutting garnish, restocking and anything needed for service

• Assist in maintaining a clean and efficient bar space, keeping all beverage product, garnish, ice, glassware, etc. organized and clean behind the bar

• Ensure each guest’s bar top or table is maintained throughout the entire dining experience

• Help bus, maintain, and clean the bar during service, extending to the dining room as needed

• Assist with opening and closing bar duties taking part in daily pre-shift and post-shift side-work
