Recreation Bus Driver
DEPARTMENT: Recreation Department
HOURS OF WORK: Summer Season (July & August) Monday-Friday 9:30 am-1:30 pm. The academic year will be on an as-needed schedule. (Up to 18 hours per week)-Non-Benefitted. SALARY: $20/hour (non-union), Seasonal and As Needed Position Summary: The Recreation Driver will be responsible for driving our ten-passenger bus to a variety of field trip locations around the area. Works under the direct supervision of the Recreation Director. Requirements:- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must have a valid state driver's license for 5 consecutive years.
- Must have a clean driving record, including no speeding tickets.
- Undergo a successful background check (CORI).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide safe transportation to and from field trips for recreation participants.
- Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
- Assist passengers on and off the bus when necessary.
- Complete a pre-checklist before operating the vehicle.
- Report to the Recreation Director about any maintenance issues with the vehicle.
- Keep vehicle safe and clean.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge: Knowledgeable in State and Federal traffic laws.
- Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively and independently.
