Please be sure to identify the position you are applying for. General Description Reports to the Director of Leased Housing or the Assistant Director of Leased Housing. The Renewal Manager supervises, directs and monitors Leasing Officers and support staff with respect to their general performance, the management of their leased housing client caseload, compliance with regulations, level of production, and effectiveness in dealing with the public, including relationship with landlords, tenants, and prospective clients and applicants. The Renewal Manager assigns client cases to Leasing Officers, monitors the progress of the Leasing Officer toward the successful leasing of their clients, advises Leasing Officers on special problems. The Renewal manager also monitors each allocation of units and assures timely lease renewal. Also acts as a liaison/ contact person between the department and other offices in the Authority, outside agencies, landlords, etc. Duties & Responsibilities- Meets periodically with each Leasing Officer to review progress on caseload and special problems.
- Regularly assigns annual renewal cases to Leasing Officers, assures that each Leasing Officer has a manageable caseload in line with their job description and that each Leasing Officer achieves their prescribed standard.
- Evaluates and submits for approval special requests made by Leasing Officers on behalf of their clients such as special rent adjustments and certificate extensions.
- Identifies common problems that require the establishment of department-wide policy and procedure.
- Develops such policy and procedure and recommends to the Director for implementation.
- Ensures Leasing Officers understand and implement the new policy and procedure.
- Identifies and distributes new federal regulations to staff; ensures through the use of explanatory memoranda and staff meetings that each Leasing Officer understands and implements new regulations.
- Represents the department at meetings with outside agencies.
- Provides information concerning leased housing programs to groups of potential clients, social service groups or agencies.
- Verifies 75 case renewals each month to ensure accuracy of calculations, adequacy of documentation, completeness of paper work and adherence to program regulations and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
