Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer

Location: Fall River, MA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday availability as needed

Compensation: Target total compensation $70,000-$100,000+ based on experience, sales ability, and bonus structure

About the Opportunity

AutoShop Recruiting is partnered with a family-owned independent repair shop in Fall River, MA, to hire an Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer. This is a high-trust, customer-facing role inside a shop known for honest communication, strong European vehicle capability, and loyal customers who value being treated like people instead of ticket numbers.

The right advisor can build relationships, write and sell repair orders, coordinate technicians, source parts, and keep customers informed through the full repair process. This is a great fit for someone who can sell with integrity and still move quickly in a busy shop.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers, build trust quickly, and create a professional first impression
• Listen to customer concerns and write accurate repair orders in Shopmonkey
• Present inspection findings, estimates, maintenance, and repair recommendations clearly
• Sell needed work with honesty and strong value-building, without overselling
• Source parts, coordinate vendors, and communicate parts availability
• Dispatch work to technicians and keep workflow moving
• Communicate repair status, approvals, delays, and completion timing to customers
• Support a high-end customer experience for European, domestic, and Asian vehicles
• Work closely with ownership and technicians in a direct, family-style shop culture

What We're Looking For

• Experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, Assistant Service Manager, or similar service-lane role
• Strong customer communication and phone skills
• Ability to write repair orders, present estimates, and close recommended work
• Comfort working with Shopmonkey or a similar shop management system
• Parts sourcing and technician-dispatch experience
• Relationship-driven sales style with strong integrity
• Organized, steady under pressure, and comfortable in a busy independent repair shop
• Valid driver's license

Compensation & Benefits

• Target total compensation of $70,000-$100,000+ based on experience and performance
• Simple bonus structure expected, with team gross-profit bonus recommended
• Medical benefits available, with employer contribution
• 401(k)-style retirement plan with up to 3% match
• One week vacation after six months
• Weekly pay
• Monday-Friday schedule with occasional Saturday availability as needed
