  • Maintain and refine the product backlog in collaboration with product owners and delivery teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly communicated to and understood by development and data engineering teams.

Data Analysis & Validation

  • Use SQL to query, extract, and analyze data from multiple systems to validate requirements and ensure data integrity.
  • Perform data profiling and data quality assessments to identify inconsistencies or anomalies.
  • Define and document business rules, data transformations, and KPI calculations to support reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Validate Power BI dashboards and ensure alignment between source data and business-defined KPIs.

Data Mapping & Governance (Microsoft Purview)

  • Create and maintain data mapping documentation within Microsoft Purview, linking source systems to target destinations (e.g., Power BI datasets, data warehouses).
  • Manage and update the Unified Data Catalog in Purview to ensure data assets are discoverable, properly classified, and well-documented.
  • Support data lineage tracking and metadata management to ensure transparency across the data lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with data governance and compliance teams to uphold data quality and stewardship standards.

Technical Coordination & Documentation

  • Work with data engineers, BI developers, and data architects to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by preparing test cases, validating results, and obtaining stakeholder approval.
  • Ensure traceability between user stories, data mappings, and delivered solutions.
  • Develop process flow diagrams, use cases, and system interface documentation as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.

    • Experience with Microsoft Purview (data mapping, unified catalog, lineage tracking).
    • Familiarity with Power BI data models, datasets, and KPI validation.
    • Experience collaborating with data engineers, ETL developers, and data governance teams.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions, data validation).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Purview – data mapping, lineage, and unified catalog management.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, including DAX logic, datasets, and visualization validation.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in an Agile environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Skilled at documentation, requirement traceability, and stakeholder alignment.
