Senior Procurement Specialist - SPS 25-24435

Position Summary:A leading global organization is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Procurement Specialist to join the Sourcing Operations group supporting Preclinical Development (PCD) outsourcing. This role focuses on managing sourcing processes, tracking financials, and supporting procurement workflows in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Note: This is not a laboratory-based position. Key Responsibilities:Support the build-out of capabilities at new or existing suppliers as driven by sourcing needs.
Partner with Sourcing Leadership and Finance teams to assist in developing annual sourcing budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Deliver accurate end-of-quarter and year-end reporting, including reconciled sourcing actuals, variance explanations, and accruals.
Use IT applications and financial tools to manage requisitions, purchase orders (POs), and vendor payments.
Troubleshoot PO and invoice reconciliation issues to ensure timely resolution.
Contribute to the evolution and enhancement of sourcing and procurement systems/processes.
Initiate POs based on defined scopes of work, ensuring contracts are in place before work begins.
Validate deliverables prior to approving invoices for payment.
Maintain organized and accurate records of open/closed POs and payment activities.
Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose improvements.
Participate in cross-functional sourcing management teams to evaluate vendor capabilities and onboard new partners.
Bachelor’s degree
Proven experience working in cross-functional, collaborative teams
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to manage and prioritize high volumes of transactional work effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort making decisions in ambiguous situations
Excellent written and verbal communication
Self-driven with a positive attitude and a consistent performance track record
Familiarity with SAP, Ariba, or similar financial/procurement systems
Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation
Ability to manage timelines and prioritize group tasks efficiently
Experience contributing to operational process improvements
