Improv instructors

The Hanover Theatre Conservatory is currently seeking theater instructors who specialize in improv. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to working with children, teens, and adults. We offer classes in 4 different age brackets: Children (grades K – 3), Pre-Teens (grades 4-8), Teens (Grades 9-12) and Adults (ages 18+).

We offer Drama classes in (2) 15-week semesters; Sept – Dec and Jan – May. Most classes are held during the week after school hours (4-9pm). Children and Pre-Teen classes are usually 60 minutes, Teen/Adult classes are usually 90 minutes. Preferred day of the week is Mondays, but we are considering instructors with other availability.

The pay rate is $50/hour which includes curriculum planning, and evaluations. Payment is bi-weekly on a W-2.

Qualifications:

• Must be willing and available to work on-site in Worcester, MA.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends.
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in theater and performance.
• Knowledge and demonstrated practice of effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Effective prioritization and multitasking skills.
• Collaborative decision-making skills in a team environment.
• Detail oriented with ability to effectively multitask.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Theater Performance, Theater Arts or related field, Master’s Preferred.
