As a Senior Software Engineer on the AI team, you will play a key role in building and scaling the systems that power WHOOP AI’s internal and member-facing experiences. You will work across the stack to deliver high-quality features, contribute to agent orchestration system architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to create seamless and impactful user experiences. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about building reliable, scalable applications and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Work in a cross-functional team alongside product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end features
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable front-end and back-end systems using modern frameworks and cloud technologies
- Design and build intuitive user interfaces and integrate them with robust backend APIs to deliver seamless member experiences
- Contribute to feature ideation, technical design, and implementation, translating business requirements into scalable solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, following best practices for performance, security, and reliability
- Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues while continuously improving system performance and stability
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience
- Experience building and maintaining high-quality, performant web applications using Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS
- Experience designing and developing APIs (RESTful services preferred)
- Experience building solutions leveraging Large Language Models
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex problems into manageable solutions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- A growth mindset with a strong desire to learn, iterate, and improve continuously

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company’s long-term growth and success.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $215,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
