Software Developer

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop application software and implement efficient, high-quality code.
• Research, design, develop, and implement software applications and systems.
• Plan system development and deployment, ensuring compliance with software standards.
• Evaluate and implement interfaces between hardware and software, addressing operational, architectural, and security requirements.
• Manage and modify existing software programs to improve functionality and performance.
• Document testing procedures, client experiences, and system maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to maintain security compliance.
• Develop and conduct unit tests.
• Automate build, test, and monitoring processes.
• Improve CI/CD pipeline efficiency and reliability.

Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software design and development.
• Strong background in automated build, test, and integration using CI/CD tools.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (Ansible, Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab/GitHub, Docker, Podman).
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and automation.
• Expertise in Python; experience with Java and C++.
• Experience with Kubernetes and software package management systems (RPM/YUM).
• Familiarity with pub/sub messaging frameworks (ActiveMQ, ZeroMQ).
• Knowledge of microservices architectures (OSGi).
• Experience with system monitoring frameworks (Prometheus, OTEL, InfluxDB/Telegraf).
• Minimum 3 years of experience with scripting languages (Perl, Ruby, Python).
• Strong understanding of IP network protocols and distributed systems development.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced prototyping environments (fly-fix-fly testing cycles).

Education/Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software design, integration, and DevOps automation.
• Experience supporting automated builds, scripting (Make/Cmake/Nmake), and containerized CI/CD environments.
• Expertise with Linux OS, scripting, and common CI/CD tools (GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, Salt).
• Interim Secret Clearance acceptable.
